OUR ORIGIN STORY

Founder & CEO Leonardo De Aguiar wanted to plan a thoughtful romantic evening for his partner, who was finally moving to Denver after several years of long-distance dating. The evening Leo had envisioned went beyond going out to eat at a nice restaurant as he wanted her to feel welcome in the apartment they would be sharing. He thought to himself, how could he bring the delight of a great meal to the intimacy of his own home if he wasn't a great cook?

The answer seemed simple: Why not hire a personal chef to bring that curated dining experience to his home? How hard could that be? As it turned out, finding and hiring a reputable personal chef was no easy feat. After sending more than a dozen emails to different Chefs across various platforms and listings, Leonardo was met by a wall of silence. The Chefs that did answer his request were difficult to contact, slow to respond, or didn’t have an inspiring plan for how they’d go about creating a memorable experience.

As he reflected on the process, Leonardo knew that the private chef experience shouldn’t be reserved for a chosen few, especially in an era defined by a rise of on-demand services powered by technology. Why wasn’t there a platform connecting talented chefs to diners who wanted to elevate the ordinary?

Your Chef does the shopping, cooking, and cleaning and brings all the tools they need with them, including the tableware! The Chefs you see represented on the INTUEAT platform are independent contractors who are highly respected culinary professionals. They are hand selected and invited to become members of INTUEAT because they demonstrate a deep devotion to professionalism and meticulous execution of their craft. All you need to do is tell them when, where, and what you'd like to eat.
